Columbia, SC

Columbia is one of our most favorite places to visit.  Well of course, two of our most favorite people live there,  Mary Kathryn and Matthew.

We got the opportunity to visit a few weeks ago and had a blast!!!  There was never a dull moment.  Saturday we went to the Children Museum.  It was amazing.  I must say I got some great ideas for future birthday parties, and you know how I love planning birthdays!!

They had a fire station with a real firetruck and pole!!

A Barn Yard where you could collect eggs, pick plants, or climb on a real John Deere tractor.

A Grocery story with carts, can food, box food, produce, a freezer with meat, and of course a check out with cash register (this was Hendricks favorite!!).

David Nelson's favorite was the huge indoor playground.  It was like no other playground I have ever seen!!  It was a huge boy (picture of David Nelson and Mary K on his shoe) and the inside of the boy was the replica of a true human body with slides and stairs and tunnels.  You could slide down the esophagus and climb through the intestines.  You could jump around in the stomach which of course had food in it.  AMAZING!!!

Next up was the Vet Clinic.  I thinks this was my favorite!! (There may be Vet birthday party in someone's future)  They had little cages with stuffed animals and they each had a chart.  There was a scale, stethoscope, lab coat, and a pet scanner.  It was soooo adorable!

The next day, after a wonderful pancake breakfast cooked by sweet Matthew, we were off to the Riberbanks Zoo and Gardens.

Mary K and Matthew got these toys for David Nelson which did not leave his side for a few weeks
Thanks Mary Kathryn and Matthew, we had the best time!!!!!

"Easter 2012"

EMPTY!!
I love Easter and all it stands for.  This year Nelson and I were asked to help out in David Nelson's Sunday School class. I absolutely loved listening to his lesson.  His sweet teacher talked about the tomb and how on Easter morning it was "EMPTY." She had an Easter egg that when she opened it, it was empty, she showed my shoe (after asking me to take it off) that was empty, she even made rolls that were empty inside.  The children were so excited when she showed them a picture of the tomb and they all shouted out it is "EMPTY"!!

The weekend was full activities

Scattered

Question - Will this feeling of being scattered ever go away?

Scatter refers to loose or haphazard distribution of components, aka my thoughts!!

In the past, not sure how long ago, but I know in the past I did not have this feeling of being completely scattered.  I used to have it together and everything planned out.  Not anymore, now there are moments each day when I catch myself doing one thing and then all of sudden I realize I really meant to be doing something else.  I always catch my self driving to the wrong place.  Today I headed home after dropping the children off at daycare instead of heading to work.  I will load the washing machine and before I can hit the start button I will have started putting away  toys.  I try really hard to not show how scattered I am but I don't think I am pulling that off too well.  Today (yes, again today) we were having a farewell lunch for sweet Emma.  I heard someone say it was one o'clock and instead of slowly and calmly saying my good byes, keeping to myself the mistake I just made; I jumped up completely nervous.  I had realized that I was suppose to have picked up David Nelson by 1:00 and I was once again late.  When I walked in for the lunch I knew this and was suppose to be watching the clock, but somehow I remain completely scattered.  I am not by any means complaining, actually it makes me laugh at myself constantly.
Maybe its the Lord's simple way of making me smile.

David Nelson and Hendricks about a year ago. (After placing this photo I realized that it does not correlate with my entry at all but the fact that I choose this photo is another example of my scattered thoughts)

UP, UP, and AWAY

UP, UP, and AWAY!!

We visited Huntsville a few weekends ago and had a BLAST!!  On Saturday we went to a place called Sci Quest where they had lots of hands on experiments and scientific games.  The boys loved it, especially the waterway that you could put up walls to guide balls through.  The next stop was the Botanical Gardens.  There was so much to see;  I don't think we made it all the way around.  The Children's Garden was amazing.  I would go back and just spend an entire day there.  On Sunday it was off to the US Space Center.  Although much of it was over our little ones, they loved all the big spacecrafts and the children play areas.  David Nelson even rode a free fall ride like Mommy and Daddy.  The icing on the cake was we got to spend the weekend with Papa, Neenee and Seany!!!
